1 Year!!

Well it has been a crazy but very fun week! Celebrating Brooklyn's Birthday was great although a little sad... time definitely goes by too quickly. For B's birthday we had dinner at Rosa's and were joined by Susan, Terry, Rick, Shelley and Adam. We followed that with cake at our house. Brett and I decided to be creative and made Brooklyn 'A Very Hungry Caterpillar' cake. The cake and frosting were from scratch, they were easy though... the fondant was the hard part haha. It came out great and Brooklyn loved eating it! She had a great time opening presents although lost interest after she opened her pink bear from her Daddy. From us she got lots of clothes, some silver shoes, a pink bear, a baby doll that I made, a book, and a couple of toys. She got some great gifts from Brett's family including her GORGEOUS blue, white and red dress that she wore on her birthday, red sparkly shoes to go with her dress, a princess tent that she LOVES, and a baby doll complete with stroller, bassinet, and car seat for the baby. Seriously some of the cutest gifts ever and she is loving playing with them all.

Brooklyn has changed so much this past month and I feel like she really grew out of being a baby and into being a little girl... so fun! Here's her monthly update and some pictures (more on FB)
-She now walks and runs everywhere. She took her first steps very early but waited until she was really comfortable before she started to choose walking over crawling
-She says duck, dog, dada, mama, 'uh' for uh oh, 'tar' for star and her latest and favorite word is 'snack'
-She weighs 20 lbs (50th percentile) and is 31 in tall (100th percentile - who knows where she gets her height from)
-She still has only 6 teeth... 4 on top, 2 on bottom
-She is very smart and attentive... she is learning to follow more and more instructions. When I set her down and tell her we need to go and change her diaper she heads straight into her bedroom and over to her changing mat!
-She loves to tickle... if my feet are up she will walk up and tickle them haha
-She LOVES to sneeze. She thinks that sneezing is the greatest thing ever and laughs if she or I sneeze
-She is obsessed with her shoes. I always leave her bedroom door open so that she can play with her toys in there but she always makes her way to her closet and into the draw where all her shoes are... apparently they are way more interesting then her toys
-If she is playing with something and you hold out your hand she will hand it to you... most of the time ;)
-She is obsessed with my cell phone and if you tell her to say hello she will hold it up to her face haha... she also loves the TV remote, and the computer... she will happily bang on the keyboard and click the mouse if you will let her (a little crazy that my one year old is so into technology already)
-She now has a big girl car seat that faces forward... she doesn't like it as much as I thought she would
-She always is not a huge fan of whole milk... or drinking milk/formula out of a sippy... I am going to wait until after our trip to Indy before I really try and wean her from the bottle
-She refuses to keep in any type of bow or headband which makes me super sad
-She is such a great kid and we love her to pieces
