Halloween...

Our little witch...
Pin on the hat 'Best Witch - with or without the costume' :)

Brooklyn and Jewel were both witches for Halloween. Mindi and I created matching hats for Brooklyn and Jewel and they also had matching tutus and leg warmers.

Super strength!
We had a fabulous Halloween this year. On Saturday we went to Trunk or Treat at the Durst's ward. Brett was out of town so it was just B and I. Brooklyn was very unsure of all the scary decorations and after seeing Mason she had had it. Mason (who is the sweetest kid ever and would never intentionally scare B) was dressed in a full body skin suit, covering his face and everything. He looked awesome but Brooklyn was absolutely terrified of him, screaming and even shaking. Even after we unzipped his face she still would not go near him. She kept telling me that "Mason scares me" and after that she refused to let me put her down for the rest of the night! I thought she would enjoy the trunk or treating but she was still scared and unsure so after a few cars we returned back to Mindi's car and just sat in the back eating her candy.

Brett had Halloween off of work so I thought it would be fun to take B into Old Town Temecula and take some Halloween pictures. She had two different outfits so I thought a little photo shoot was necessary. We parked by the town hall and they have a little courtyard with a fountain which we thought would be a cute setting. Nobody was around so we let Brooklyn run off toward the fountain. As we got closer we realized that the fountain had a little pool around it that you could not see from further back... Brooklyn had not realized either. As soon as we noticed the pool Brett took off running because B is so clumsy we knew she would end up in the fountain... which of course she did. Brett sprinted over and pulled her out. The little pool surrounding the fountain was small but deep and with the water from the fountain pounding down Brooklyn could not get up and was face down when Brett pulled her out. I was laughing so hard at this point... Brett however was not. It was definitely scary for him pulling her out like that. I ran back to the car, grabbed a blanket and her second Halloween outfit, dried her off and changed her. The water was freezing so poor B was too. We felt so bad for her so we ditched the photo shoot and took her to the sweet shop where she got a nice big lollipop!

Later on that evening we went to the park which is where we took the pictures above. Then we met up
with the Durst's and some people from their ward and went trick or treating. Brooklyn was like a different kid and had a great time. She went up to the doors with Brett and was pretty good at saying 'trick or treat' and 'thank you'. She got LOTS of candy and had a fabulous time trick or treating for the first time!

I don't know which is more sad - mason scaring her in his blue suit or her falling into the fountain!!!!!
